From a depleted well to clean heat
WeHEAT is a closed-cycle, deep-borehole heat system that can be retrofitted into already-drilled wells, extracting geothermal energy without producing any formation water.
The closed cycle, step by step
Retrofit the well
We re-use an existing, depleted oil or gas borehole, with no new drilling or abandonment cost.
Fluid descends
A working fluid circulates down the sealed casing in a fully closed loop.
Earth heat is absorbed
Deep geothermal heat conducts into the loop, without producing any formation water.
Heat is delivered
The heated fluid returns to the surface, where exchange stations deliver up to ~1.2 MW of clean heat.

Every element of the closed cycle serves one purpose: carrying the earth’s heat to the surface without loss.
